About The Absurd Daily

The Absurd Daily publishes a new single-image cartoon every day, each one starting from a true news story that turned out stranger than fiction.

How these are made

Ideas, captions and story summaries are written with an AI model. The drawings are made with an AI image model. A person chooses which ideas become cartoons and approves every drawing before it is published. Captions and summaries are published as the model wrote them.

What the cartoons are about

The jokes are about situations, not about individuals. Private people are not named and are not drawn as recognisable likenesses. Each cartoon links to the original report so you can read what really happened.

Corrections

If a summary has something wrong or you would like a cartoon taken down, write to you@example.com and it will be looked at.
